I have 3 year old twins, and one is completely potty trained (night-time too!) and the other is very good about doing pee, but refuses to poopie in the potty. She actually ASKS for a diaper. I talked to my doctor about it, and they said AS LONG AS SHE IS GOING, let her use the diaper. The doctor also noted that it was GOOD that she KNEW she needed to go "#2," so she is not having a problem understanding the "feeling." I guess a lot of children this age are "afraid." It's normal....but don't make her hold it! That will make her constipated, and even MORE PAINFUL!!!!

Hi, I have a 3 yr. old son that I am potty training. He is doing the same thing. He pees fine but holds the poop. We are using M&M candies to train. They are colorful and only a few seems like alot. We give 2 for peeing and 4 for poop. Yesterday after much crying he pooped and we are right back to the same situation today. Overtime they loose their fear and start going so just be patient and kind and keep talking about the reward and how good it will feel! Also, there is a book called "Everybody poops" that might help! i saw somewhere, maybe wal-mart, dress up costumes for toilets. there's a giraffe, dog and cat. maybe this will ease her fear of the toilet

give her prune juice! it will make her need to go so bad and she will forget her fear of the toilet and just go.
