This is guaranteed to drive them bats.

But who actually challenged us to think this way. Was it Jesus Christ or the Buddha who lived 500 years before Jesus walked this earth ?

Budda:"Do not do unto others what you would not have them do unto you"

Jesus took the negative and turned it into a positive.

Jesus " Do unto others as you would have them do unto you

I think many different religions and philosophies have come to this same conclusion, regardless of influence from outsides sources or whenever in the chronological scale they have fallen. It's simply common sense. And you figure, Buddha may have walked the earth 500 years before Jesus, but another 2500 years BEFORE that was when God first began to instruct his people in his ways. (Think Moses and Abraham, etc.) So it's quite possible that the Buddha himself was the one influenced in the first place.

Love your enemies makes perfect sense. Think about it like this. Jesus said to pray for them. I think the less miserable they are the less likely they are to make you miserable! Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Pray for them hell yeah but always be aware. Sleep with one eye open, For Lina Lou. That is an awesome book, I own that check out these too, view my yahoo 360 for a great list!

Simply because there is truth before the incarnation of the Christ does not discount Christ. It just says that God and truth existed before the incarnation.

a truth is a truth whether a bum or a king says it. who said it first is in reality a non issue. It's like wondering who the first person to tear a whole in the lid of a coffe cup was.

He showed the power of love even when he hug on the Stake ( Cross ) Tree ). He beged his father Forgive them father brcause they do not know what they do. I don't know who it was, but I believe in the universal law of attraction and that what you put in, in terms of positivity or negativity and love or fear you get back in one form or another. What comes around goes around, so to speak.

It's funny; for all the hype, Jesus was actually pretty mean to some of his enemies. See http://godisimaginary.com/i39.htm .
