Can you imagine what the bookie would say if you went in and said "Have you got a horse whose odds are fourteen million to one?"

The simple fact is that people DO win the lottery jackpot. And, except on rare occasions, they usually win more than £1 million as their share of the jackpot. IMHO if you can spare £1 it is worth a go on the main Lotto game because a win really would change your life - but don't bother with the other games.

I probably spend less than £10 a year on tickets, usually when they hype it up if it's a rollover. Yes, I know that I don't have a better chance of winning, but somehow they psychologically trick me into buying a ticket! I bought a £1 scratchcard online yesterday and won £7 so that's not too bad is it?! I sometimes dream about where I would put my sofa in my mansion but I think everybody does don't they? The majority of the time I am realistic and I know that I will never win it big. But on the other hand....never say never!!

No, I don't think I will ever win, but the hope that I get,as well as the hours of fantasy about what I would do with the money, are more than worth the 2 dollars I spend twice a week.

certainly not. I dont play the lottery (ok, maybe once or twice a year) and in fact I think I am a winner in a way by saving myself loads of dosh- had I played the lottery every week for the last 10 years!!

Never live in hope- you will waste your life doing this.

I always think that half the time they make the names up so that they can pay for new celebrity guests to come onto the show to press the button!
