If no then why? Can you give even one reasonable reason? Are there actually any major opposite teachings?

I'm just wondering because Gandhi said: "I am a Muslim and a Hindu and a Christian and a Jew and so are all of you."

As a believer of Islam and a former Catholic, I say yes. Simply because Islam was a progression for me, not a contradiction. However, I dont like the reputation of being a muslim/moslem at present. That really stinks. Am trying hard to erase and replace with a better one but am feeling indignant to having to so. Devoted I am, devout, ...er, well probably not yet.

If you are a very liberal Christian I guess you could practice quite a bit of the Muslim stuff, but I don't think the Muslims would let you go the opposite direction.

The attributes of Allah are not anywhere near reflective of the attributes of Yaweh. Mohammed according to Islam was the last and most important prophet, according to God's word self-proclaimed people that delivered that type of doctrine were considered false prophets. Jesus established himself as God incarnate, Islam believes that He was just another prophet.
The two are worlds apart in doctrine and the Bible has established itself throughout history as authentic, the Qu-ran as a cheap replica. To be a follower of both would be as if you were a follower of none.

NO> you can't believe Jesus is the son of God, then believe that Jesus is just a prophet. Your heart can only be in one direction, if you are to have true faith on either side> if you believe both, then you are contradicting both religions, therefore they have no real value or merit on you. I'd personally go w/ the christian belief that Jesus is the son of God. This belief was formulated atleast 300 years before Islam. peace.

Why do you want to be a christian and a muslim?

First of all,to be a Christian you must accept the Lord Jesus Christ as Your Lord and Savior. To be a Muslim you just enter and belive what they say, you'll be slaved to the religion, not like christianity

i think for name sake u can...but u can not be a devoted one either side...its just like wishing to be fat and thin same time...not possible...
as for religion...u need to accept and follow the teachings...unless u understand one out of the two, how can u just enroll urself as a member of both communities? - it would be a great cheat code to enter heaven...but theres only one way, the truth, and u need to seek it...
doesnt matter how u interpret Gandhi...maybe he meant all are one - BUT make a correction, all are ONE brotherhood...but NOT one in belief.

I'm open minded. Two religions at the same time- Maybe. Islam and Christianity-no. They are opposed to each other. The only way you could do that would be to lie.

Not really. In Christianity Jesus is God incarnate while Muslims believe he was just a prophet. That's a fairly large fundamental difference.

NO it is not.
You will love one and hate the other.
The ideologies are opposed to one another.
Christianity came from the Jewish religion.
Muslim did not.
That is why it is written in their Koran not to trust the Christian or the Jew for they are brothers.
Thus indicating that they are not of the family.

a christian is someone who believes and accepts Jesus as the son of God. muslims believe that Jesus was just a prophet and He was NOT the son of God. So it's a paradox to accept and to deny Jesus as son of God and someone who says that he is a muslim and a christian in the same time is an hypocrite.
