That is so cute !!!
I think you can now use this opportunity to explain how seeds are used to grown plants - and some seeds are healthy for eating. Like the sunflower seeds that people eat. And the sesame seeds on hambuger buns are really also used to grow a plant. And the little seeds in apples grow apple trees .... its a big lesson for a three year old !
And the bird seed that birds eat also will grow plants. It would be a good lesson about Nature.
I wonder if you plant the bird seed in dirt, if it will grow. Your 3 year old would be amazed at that.

That's so cute. I had a 2 yr. old here a couple of months ago and she got into the shed where I keep the corn for the deer and the birdseed. She came out with a handful of corn and the other one full of birdseed. Then I noticed the birdseed hanging off her chin so I asked her, "Leah, did you eat some of that deer corn?!" She looked up at me and goes, "Uh-huh" so I asked her, "Did you eat some birdseed too? and she goes, "Uh-huh" so I gave up trying to be mad and asked her, "Was it good?" and she put more birdseed in and goes, "Uh-huh". Her sister, Riah, who is 4 was asking me what kind of a bird was outside one day so I told her to go get the bird book and we could find the bird in the book. She looked at me so serious and said, "Do you think I'm stupid?" I said, "No, why?" She says, "I know there's no birds in a book, they can't live in a book, they live outside, I'm not stupid". But my God, was she serious. I almost hit the floor.
Enjoy that baby while they are this age. It doesn't take them long to grow up. The things they do and the funny things they say should be written down so they are not forgotten. You are truly blessed.

Well, remember... the birds that eat the seed will be growing. So watch the birds and tell her which birds eat it.

try planting some and find out. but tell him/her the only way a bird will grow with birdseed is when they get fat on too much.
