Marzipan Recipe

75 - 100 grams / 3 - 4 oz of ground almonds
1 cup of icing sugar
½ cup of castor sugar
1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons of fresh strained lemon juice
½ teaspoon of almond essence

In a medium sized bowl or food processor mix together the ground almonds, icing sugar and castor sugar. Make a well in the centre of the mixture and add the egg yolk, strained lemon juice and essence. Taste and add more essence if desired. Mix together thoroughly. Turn out onto the bench dusted with a mixture of icing sugar and cornflour and knead the mixture until smooth. Use as required.

Since marzipan is basically almond paste you must have had a shot of Amaretto liquor or similar. Visit your local house of spirits and liquor and they should be able to help you determine what it was that you drank. I assume you are of age. If so, often they will let you taste things. Or, if of age, go to a lounge and bar and ask your friendly barkeep.

By the way, Armaretto is a deep gold color. Does this sound familiar?

You are probably talking about amaretto. A 'PS I Love You' has half shot amaretto, half shot baileys and the rest made up of milk. Give it a go!!!!!!!!!

Amaretto, of course.

In Mexico there is an almond flavored tequila - maybe you had that. It's really, really good.
