Only for the serious.

Look at page 7 of 31 for the bar code. The blue is where the percentage of illegal immigrants were in 1990, they yellow is where they were in 2004.

There is other stuff, but this is analysing Minnisota, which, while now indisputably impacted, is still a small economic number next to the border states.

Sorry, that should be page 7 of 21. It is a pdf, I can't copy it.

Avner, they would have to be Americans, in which case I don't care about thier roots.

Gokart, I agree.

yars, the NUMBERS have still gone up in California and NJ, but the percentages have gone down. Remember that the 1986 amnesty hit the biggest states the most and family they brought in by now is often legal. That wouldn't count in these numbers.

Yep, and our state legislatures are still tryin' to give em stuff. It's sad...and it also points to conflict-of-interest on the issue, as in 'who are our representatives representing, anyway'?

I think all 50 states should support expanding the ICE, and the sooner it happens, the better.

Border fence, border patrol, ICE, employer enforcement, federal legislation that addresses illegal immigration without any discussion of amnesty until this whole mess has turned around, and a brand-new treaty with Mexico which they will honor, or wish they had.

Employer sanctions are a big part of this, as would be a good critical look at the real estate industry. Time to stop selling off america...

California and New Jersey surprise me greatly. Also the information is somewhat out of date, as 3 million illegals now enter. Patroled areas report decreses and increases in crime, but it's the unpatroled areas that have no data.

The 'all other' huge increase only means they are distributing themselves now not congregating in specific areas.

It would be interesting to see the distribution once the state laws and local laws have been taken into account that were passed so far this year.

I agree that something needs to be done but not in the way you may be thinking. I feel that according to American history; we all originated from other countries. The great Melting Pot? Remember the history lessons. These people have come here to have a better way of life. I have only seen hard working individuals. Yes; they do need to pay taxes and obey the laws. I feel that a plan needs to be made to include them in our country but with the same laws that apply to us.
