If the US government kept out of every matter except physical force issues, extortion, aggression by other nations, armed robbery, etc. capitalism would be free to run properly. If you gave 10 billion $ to 1 lab to research aids, there would be a cure in a couple years, but instead you give the money to the federal govt and the labs fight against each other for grant money to do aids reseasrch and the funds get disbursed among 8 labs that all get nowhere. It is not the lab that is failing us, people, it is government.

I think that the illegal immigration issue has been made out to be a much bigger problem than it really is to distract the media and the voters from other more serious issues. I firmly believe that the best way to deal with the illegal immigration issues is to first seal our borders and run the fingerprints and identification of every single person entering thee country. Anyone who has a criminal record should be denied entry. Immigration and Naturalization needs to do a better job of enforcing current laws and needs to have more open lines of communication with other bureaus.
The answer to your question about the welfare state is yes, we do need one. There is a great deal of waste and bureacracy in our healthcare and welfare systems and I would like to see a more streamlined system. I think that we need to be helping people help themselves instead of giving handouts.

Getting a rid of the programs will only make living hard for the country but also there is alot of stuff many do not know about these programs is that each county and state andd so on has guidelines and rules to follow and the workers who deal with these programs get bonuses and so on for either keeping or kicking people off the system. Also the men and women who pay thier support and try to do thier best to do thier responsible part get taken while those who do not get away with murder and they get more help. I have proven info on all this because of intensive research and experience. There are sites that can be visited that will tell all this and more. I feel that they need to quit being so unfair and start using thier guidelines to help those in need instead of giving it to those who make the workers feel sorry for them and they are only using the system to scam those who really need the help.
Agencies are supposed to look at the need and the availability of resources and so on and assist those in need get the help they need, but in reality they only help those they feel are worthy and yes they do play a lot of favoritisms.

No, it wouldn't "solve the illegal immigration problem". They don't receive those services in their own countries. Tough truth.
As Milton Friedman said of California (paraphrased), "You can't have an uncontrolled border between a 3rd world country and a welfare state without large numbers of people moving from the first to the second."

I feel that they should not be allowed any of the welfare programs we have unless they have been here for 5 years or more and have the correct paper work and have paid TAXES like everyone else. I believe in being fair to them but in return they should have to comply with our laws.
Nothing is wrong with someone trying to obtain a better way of life. But if they are not paying taxes like everyone else then cut them off of the free services

I'd say the best way is to make those programs unavailable to the immigrants and their children. There would have to be a minimum residency clause, for instance. If they stay and pay their own way for a certain number of years, then they qualify.

If we cut out that non citizens could use it-it would stop a few from coming and being here.
Some citizens need help--many vets who were injured in wars-our elderly-the sick-ect. I have no problem with citizens using it-it worked for many years and helped many,
It is the non citizens using it-it just isn't right.
And I think it needs reform for those who abuse it here

State and federal programs are not what brings illegal immigration to the US, its jobs and escaping fear.

No, that wouldn't help. Then a lot of American citizens who use those programs would suffer. They should just limit the use of these programs for citizens or legal residents.
