If he's like my cats, he'd possibly desire to chase the poultry the 1st few cases till now he found out that the poultry is palms off. once you're traumatic related to the poultry getting harmed, you ought to continually line the backside a million/4 of the cage with Plexiglas or some thing comparable and save the cage in a separate room. I definitely have my birds in the computing gadget room, so as that they get a brilliant sort of interest there. The cats is often saved out by ability of last the door. it will take some adjustment on the two animal's aspects. i does not rush it and positioned across the cat to the poultry's cage to introduce them formally.

Ever watched Sylvester & Tweetie!?
If you are accustomed to letting the bird roam free in the house, no you should not make the attempt. Otherwise...In my opinion, as long as the cat is declawed and you are careful about the placement of the bird cage, you shouldn't have too much of a problem. However, I have experienced cats that don't necessarily attack the cage but they just won't shut up! lol
You have a pretty tuff decision on your hands. good luck!

They do better when they're both young enough to get used to the others presence. Just keep them well apart and see how the cat responds...it's personality thing, some will adjust, others will carefully scheme and plan the birds annihilation...and wait for when you leave the house one day.
If I asked my cat, she'd say "What's a parrot?"

If the cat grew up with birds it should be fine. If not, don't just throw them together you wont have a bird. Gradually introduce them, then they will learn to get along.

I keep the parrot (Amazon type) separated from the kitties (for their safety), and she doesn't go out unsupervised anyway, because she is jealous and tries to attack my husband.
