Here is one of my favorite sources for copyright free images. It's called getty images. Here is their retro pictures inventory, you can get b & w pictures that are like old movie stills & family photos, etc.

Once you get to their site, in the search box type "friends" or "women friends" if you want more specific pictures. Then, click on a picture you like. It will open to a bigger size. Put your mouse on the picture, right click, then "copy" & "save" to your computer. You can alter it in photoshop.

have you tried google image search? do you have a digital camera and a photo editing program? you might be able to do a lot yourself with a simple editing program like Microsoft image enhancer or photoshop elements. you can make something black and white or change the contrast etc. you might be able to get a trial version of a similar program from download.com. the google image tab has links to millions of photos. you can type in word or phrase like "my friends" and get thousands of hits so there's a lot to choose from. then you could edit a photo to your hearts desire. as long as you don't use it commercially nobody should bother you. hope this helped
