Have you changed food recently? My dogs hungrily eat certain brands, but if we try something new, to give them a change, sometimes they just refuse to eat.

Otherwise, he may be ill. If you are feeding him food he has always liked, then take him to the vet for a check.

IF it is too hot your dog might have lost his appetite. A dog sometimes does not eat for a day or so, but much more than that you should see a vet with him.
There might be another problem. Watch for other symptoms like NO POOP, runny poop, not playful, vomiting, fevers, etc... like I said sometimes dogs just loose appetites specially in the heat we have been having, if your from CA west cost or east cost it is really been hot.
Has anything change lately like some family member left home for a while?
Have you been away for some time and not paying attention to him?
DOGS DO get depressed too!
and appetite drops.

DO NOT listen to rabbitwhisperer, IF he/she was a real VET they would tell you a better answer, true NOT a lot of people here know good answers. It is not the best place for answers, but I have worked with dogs all my life. and KNOW...
that IF a lack of appetite is ALL he is having it is not life threatening, BUT if it is accompanied by other symptoms then check with a vet.

Interesting. My three dogs decided one day that they didn't like Science Diet anymore and started leaving some of their food. They are all different types of dogs too. I thought maybe it was a bad batch of food and bought another. They didn't want that either! I bought a new brand and they were fine. Sometimes they just need a change OR they know something about the food that we don't! A lot of brands make the food with junk and plastic products that we wouldn't or couldn't eat! Check Science diet, I think they had some issue too. I would bring him in for a check up.

It has to do with the "dog days" of summer. Dogs generally don't feel that great when the heat outside is high and won't eat during the day as much as they did when the heat was lower. Nothing's wrong; my dog's acting the same way, trust me...you'll probably notice when it grows cooler that your dog returns to normal.

This happened to my uncle's dog. He was a Yorkshire Terrier, and he had too much table scraps. He wasn't eating for a couple of days so they took him to the vet. He had an intestinal blockage from eating too much junk.

Right now my dogs are the same way they do not want to eat either. As long as they drink water the dog will be okay but you should try to make him eat. Why don't you try to put scramble eggs in his food to see if he will eat it like that.

Could be, nobody on the internet including myself can tell you yes or no. Only a veterinarian with a phone interview or exam can help you.
I am a veterinarian and I know for a fact, most people on here do not know what they are talking about.

Call your vet,
a dvm

Have you changed his food? Does he drink water. Does he have a temperature? How long has this been going on. He may just not be feeling well. Make sure he at least get plenty of water and other fluids like broth, etc.

It could be a couple of reasons why he is not eating.
1.) it could be the heat.
2.) he might be sick, take him to the vet.
3.) he could be filling up on back yard treats. (dog poo) eeww i know.
4.) he might have a bad tooth and it hurts to eat, take him to the vet.
5.) he might have something stuck in his mouth, take him to the vet.
6.) he might have a blockage if you gave him a rawhide, take him to the vet.
Good luck

could be...the question doesn't provide enouph information to make a determination. How long since he ate? Is he outside in the heat a lot? Is he old? Did his disposition change too? Have you changed his food recently? Have you been away from him more often lately?
...lol...see...so many questions. :)
