sometimes people seem to get really trashed before answering or asking something , is it?

Something to do when bored, to see if I still know how to write a sentence, organize one or two thoughts.

It depends on how you look at it.If you are indeed serious about your question and expect serious answers to help in solving your problem then its really helpfull,but if you are here for just time pass and 2 points then its boredom medicine.Its like two edged sword and it depends on your perception.If you thing its a place for a good laugh then its high time you look at yourself in the mirror.May be you will finmd something funny to laugh about.

I think it's helpful to people who really use it for answers and socialization. Google is my first step when I need an answer to one of my own questions. Otherwise I find a forum that is specific to the question that I need answered. Yahoo Answers is fun, but hardly a means to get an accurate and intelligent answer most of the time.

A little of both. There are some who ask serious questions and do get sincere replies. For those few, I do tend to get something out of it. Other times, I think the site's overrun by immature people of all ages that have nothing better to do.

it depends. sometimes i ask questions about things that are really happening in my life; and though some answers are uncalled for, some people actually give good advice and suggestions. Other times, I clown on here and have agood time. At times too, I hope that some of my answers are really helping others. We all need help from people in our lives ~~ no matter where THE SOURCE COMES FROM!!

I wouldn't take too many of the answers seriously though. Unless they're mine obviously. And I'm probably not alone their.
I mean people liking their own, not mine.

It helped me make my ice cream yummier.
But I don't think it helps you have a good "lough". It's certainly the place for a good "laugh"

it's helpful if you're looking for opinions or answers to a question.. but it's boredom medicine, too.. because people ask some really stupd, assinine things on here. stuff like that is what makes it entertaining, i can't help but laugh.

I don't think you're looking the whole picture of Answers. There are many categories here and a lot of good information being exchanged.
