She talks normally as all other fve year olds do,but her walking gait is marred by recurring seizures.( She has had four seizures already). She is in constant touch with a neurologist and she is on Volparin. We are contemplating to put her in a special school meant for children affected with CP which is in Hyderabad, and also on physiotherapy. Can she reach near normalcy if all these corrective steps are strictly adhered to?

Cerebral palsy cannot be "improved". It is what it is. However, your granddaughter has a function potential which can be met, or even exceeded, if handled in the most effective ways. This will take education, hard work and patience. Your granddaughter's parents must learn how best to help her reach her full potential. You, also, can learn how to do this so that you can make your own contribution.

You need a dose of reality. Your granddaughter will never be "normal" or "near normal", she will always have Cerebral palsy and there's nothing wrong with that. Accept it. You cannot help her until you do. From now on, there are simply those who have it and those who don't. Get rid of words like "normal" and accept your granddaughter as she is and will be.

Do you mean Cerebal Palsy? wouldn't a health provider be able to answer that kind of question?
