Chomsky rules. I don't know that that statement was a claim of his...I also doubt he uses the British spelling of "colorless"--does he? He has a harder time getting his political stuff published in the US than his linguistic stuff.

Chomsky was pointing out that we can 'understand' sentences even when they make no sense. This shows that we way we 'get' language has very little to do with relying on it to 'tell' us something.
Chomsky never got it wrong. He also said America was getting whupped in Vietnam.
