Had you ever participated in a 'big hair' hairstyle? If so, what 'big hair' style was it?

I.E. Afros? Mohawks? Deathhawk? Robert Smith? Liberty Spikes? Beehive? Glam Metal? etc.

Well, I sorta still have the big hair thing going on. Not as big as the 80's(Peg Bundy style). I tried to wear it straight and flat up against my head and I can't stand it touching my face! Of course I had it straight in the early 70's and looked even geekier! I was grade school then and didn't know any better. Early grade school I wore a pixy hair cut and looked like a boy. Times sure have changed, but I will stick with what I think looks ok, for someone my age and position. To each their own!

I use to have a spiral perm w/bangs that looked like an explosion set off on my head. I guess you call that Glam metal.....All I remember is using a can of Aqua Net. That stuff was great back in the 80's. Ahh....memories.

I'm from the "60's" generation so I was into teasing my hair....Talk about "Big" hair....I also wore the " Beehive" style. I'm only 5'1" tall and the "Beehive" would make at least 5'5"...lol

I also tried ironing my hair to make it straighter and ended up burning it up...I had to cut it real short to get rid of the burnt ends...
:-(

Back in 1987-88, I had a shag with a long rattail in the back. That was the worst I ever looked. And it didn't help that I was only 12, 13 yrs. old...the "awkward" age of the growing up years.

In the seventies I (like alot of people)I had metal hair parted in the middle. In the eighties I had the horrible shaved on the sides doo. In the nineties I went conservative with it parted on the side. Now I just keep it buzzed off.

My mom made me wear big hair in high school in the 80's because it was the "in" thing to do.

Sorry, I was just a long-hair "hippee-wanna-be:" There was no "punk-rock" hair-dos in my past, though truth be told, I rather enjoyed the music...
