I want to put siding on my house, but I don't want to hate it in 15 years because it looks dated. Which do you think will stand the test of time?

The light sage green would look a lot better than the pale yellow right now, but I think yellow will look better in 20 years. Yellow houses have been around forever, and still look charming. Personally, I would still go with light sage green, cause it is the most unique and in 20 years at least your home may look different than the rest. Choose what you like most now, don't worry about 20 years into the future!

My vote is for sage green.

I previously owned a home with yellow siding that I hated..I affectionately referred to it as "glorious gold". It was yellow and even if it were a more muted yellow - I still would not have liked it.

I like sage green a lot and I am thinking of painting my bedroom that color.

On a side note, if I were to pick a siding color that would not be offensive down the road I would pick a taupey brownish beige color. That's what I would put on my own home.

We did recently did WHITE because we were only doing part of the home due to a bow window remodel project. That was a few months ago and is hard to keep clean.

Please believe this if nothing else. I pray you live so long, but can promise you, your tastes will change before that time, regarding the color of your house.

Yellow will show the least fading, and both should fade in a gradual mellow effect.

HATE is a bit strong a word as it relates to siding and color, and I have to assume you may want change, long before 15 years has passed anyway.

DATED is nebulous, relative, and subjective. TRENDS seem to dictate what we follow,,, often as SHEEP. Do what you wish, and evolve into something else when you feel it. Cyclical is a keyword in style, color, etc, and what once was OLD will be NEW again.

Take a deep breath, get what you most want NOW, hoping to outlive it, and don't stress about a time nearly 5500 days from now.

Sage is very "of the moment". I know *I* have lots of it at home. I think yellow will stand the test of time. I especially like a pale yellow house with blue shutters.

I would do the yellow. When that fades, it will look more white and that's sociably acceptable. Green would look like it needs paint.

History teaches us that any color with a frilly name will be dated in 5 years or less. The only safe color for classic appeal for siding is "WHITE".

the pale yellow will probably be less likely to fade.
