God is a fantasy which is the end result of mental illness. Believing in religion or God is just a mental illness.
Religion is a serious mental illnesses. It’s the inability to face the reality of life and the finality of death. It affects 85% of the USA and 75% of US victims are Christians. The more pathetic and desperate a persons life, the more likely they are to believe in a god. People with otherwise empty lives, are the strongest believers. It gives them false hope that there’s a higher meaning to their sad and pathetic lives.
Religious people are dangerous. They cannot think for themselves, but instead cling to every word the bible says. Religious fanatics can somehow throw out all scientific evidence and replace it with the word of one book that has no credibility.
Recognising religion as a type of mental illness would be a good start to help cure this disease. We should develop support groups along the lines of Alcoholics Anonymous - “My name is Sam and I’m a recovering Christian ...”

As reveal in the Christian bible, God (I am that I am) has already existed. He/She/It created the Heavens and the Earth (everything that we can observe).
How do we know it? It is revealed information. God reveals, man observes. God's word (what God reveal) is spoken by the prophets. There is not proof that God exists, it is assumed.
So where does God come from? God is spirit, and he/she/it speaks to us thought prophets (messengers). Unfortunately, we can not observe God, we must take it on faith/believing (one Greek concept that requires two of English words).
For the believer (in this case a Christian believer) we know about God in the pages of the bible. Where God came from is asking about the origin of someone who has no origin.
Sorry, but that is the best that I can do.

Well if your looking for one possible answer, according to Mormon doctrine, God was once a man in another universe. He learned so much he was able to become a god himself and create his own universe to rule. And so can each of us attain the same destiny. Or so the Latter Day Saints Proclaim. Former LDS prophet/president Lorenzo Snow stated in June 1840 'As man is, God once was; and as God is, man may become.

Out of our deepest fears and inability to say these words, "I don't know". God is a great catch-all answer and most people figure, why not. The first sign a species is becoming sentient is when they have evolved
to the point where they can abstract enough to invent a god. The first sign a species is achieving sentient maturity is when they get rid of their gods

God simply is. He doesn't come from anything. He has always existed, and there was never a time that God didn't exist.

The true God didn't come from anywhere. In essence, He has always been, and always shall be. This concept is so hard to grasp becasue we have such a poor concept of time. We are unable to understand the idea of eternity.

God has been and always will be. He is God. He is the first. There was nobody before him, and there will be nobody after him. Time does not matter with God.

Allah, the Almighty God, is one and is the supreme power of all beings within and beyond the universe. He Himself is existing but not seen. His creations are seen and felt. He is the only creater of this universe and beyond. We must not try to find His position as that is beyond our purview and knowledge.

Interesting question! I have an idea it could be the Pleiades (seven stars). The Mormon Book of Abraham seems to indicate a planet named Kolob, of unknown location.
