Wait, hear me out first.

You will ALWAYS have friends, no matter what you do. Spew racist hate against jews, friends defend you. Call a Teletubby gay, friends defend you. Screw a hooker in your car, friends defend you.

I wish my friends were that delusional.

You already are delusional...
Wait, hear me out first.

You're delusional in thinking that Christians don't make mistakes; they don't pretend to be perfect.
You're delusional in thinking that Christians can be lumped into one group of jew-haters...most, in fact, are not.
You're delusional in thinking that Christians won't tell you the harsh truth in love...it's our duty to do so.
You're delusional in thinking that Christians are to be put under a microscope and the specific public mistakes of a few applied to all...that goes against God's law.

You that comment are completely ignorant in the idea that Christians don't think...speaking as one who has a 142 IQ and who is unusually logical and thinks critically by nature....when accepting Jesus, the world becomes bigger, not smaller, and the truth clearer...that you have not experienced this does not validate your claims that assume that of which you do not know...oh, my, isn't that what so many athiests accuse Christians of???

Atheists tend to assume so much, especially that Christians do not know that there is a God. I will tell you straight that I am sure beyond all doubt that there is and that I have met Him. Furthermore, He showed me things in the Spirit that show how people doubt, why they doubt, and that it was utterly impossible for this God that I had met to lie and not be who He said He is. However, you cannot take my word for it. Ask for yourself, but it will cost you everything. And if you want the kind of truth that I have received (God understands our thoughts and is respectful of them...unlike some Christians, especially ones I grew up with--it is a miracle I am not an atheist....had it not been for God.....) then you must first believe in Jesus....be honest before God and be willing to hear what you don't want to hear.

Racist Hate is not acceptable christian behavior, not sure how the Teletubby thing relates, but having sex with a hooker is not acceptable christian behavior and anyone who defends that as being okay and claims to be a christian is a hypocrite and an embarrassment to any real christian. I would like it if people would stop measuring my faith by the yard stick of those hypocrites.

Why convert to Christianity, it's a mental illness.

Religion is a serious mental illnesses. It’s the inability to face the reality of life and the finality of death. It affects 85% of the USA and 75% of US victims are Christians. The more pathetic and desperate a persons life, the more likely they are to believe in a god. People with otherwise empty lives, are the strongest believers. It gives them false hope that there’s a higher meaning to their sad and pathetic lives.

Religious people are dangerous. They cannot think for themselves, but instead cling to every word the bible says. Religious fanatics can somehow throw out all scientific evidence and replace it with the word of one book that has no credibility.

Recognising religion as a type of mental illness would be a good start to help cure this disease. We should develop support groups along the lines of Alcoholics Anonymous - “My name is Sam and I’m a recovering Christian ...”

Hypocrisy is always distasteful, so if someone's screaming at people from a high pulpit, they have to know that they're going to be scrutinized.

Christian beliefs start from the premise of loving and forgiving everyone, no matter what. So the preachers that you're very rightly disgusted by are hypocrites. They're shameful.

Aside from that... No, always follow your own beliefs. Nobody's version of how the universe works fits everybody. In other words, we all have to find our own paths. If you're an atheist, just follow your own path through life, like we all do.

I`m not sure if being delusional is a good thing.. Well, if you want your friends to be delusional like that, give them some crack or something, I don`t think you really need to convert to a religion.

Christians are not perfect, they are just forgiven. When you become sanctified and without flaw, well then I guess your friends may defend and love you as well, or is that not how being an atheist works?

My friends tell me when I am wrong that is what makes them friends and I have very different views than a lot of them of many different things one of them being religion. To answer your question, no we should not convert to anything that we do not believe in.

I think atheists should become Buddhists. Then they can be their own best friend. Then they wouldn't want to argue with the Christians anymore but would simply ignore them.
