Sometimes I can..but then other times...

Usually I can remember my dreams. I find that when I am needing to figure something out in my life and I remember my dreams, the answer is there in them. I used to keep a dream journal and when I wrote the dream down the meaning became more obvious. When I journal my dreams I also remember more of them because I am paying attention to them.

When I go through periods when I can't remember dreams I try to go to sleep a little earlier or change my wake-up time. We dream in cycles every 90 minutes or so, so that when I change my sleep schedule I am trying to "catch" the dream cycle.

While you sleep you go through different stages of sleep: light sleep, deep sleep and REM. You always dream in the REM stage, every night (if you get enough sleep). The time that has passed between your last REM period and the time you wake up determines whether you remember your dream or not and how vividly you remember it. So for example, if you wake up in the middle of the REM period, you may feel that you have just waken up in from your dream. On the other hand, if you wake up a minute or two after the REM period (being light-sleep stage) you may still remember your dream but not as vividly as in the last instance. Furthermore, if already 5 minutes have passed then it is most unlikely that you remember anything of your dream at all.
So, this is why sometimes we can recall our dreams and sometimes we cannot.

I think it is true for most of us. You have to record your dream immediately after you awaken if you want to remember it. I always think I will remember...and of course, I never do. I once had a dream where I lived a whole life-time within it...and it was so detailed; I didn't know where I was when I first woke up. It took place in a Frontier settlement in the woods. I was able to go back and confirm some of the details at a later time. It blew my mind.

I can remember the ends..but not the whole dream. But they say u dream when you are just falling asleep and coming out of a deep sleep, you don't dream while in a deep sleep. That's why I think I only remember parts..when I'm starting to wake up.

Sometimes, but other times I can only remember bits and pieces. I've actually had times where I've dreamt stuff and couldn't remember if it was real or not, and once I dreamed of something happening before it really did, I guess I've just had some pretty odd experiences. Teehee.

Who knows, maybe I'm weird.

I think it's true for most people to be able to remember some dreams and not others. Some dreams (nightmares) that I remember all too clearly I would just as soon forget.

Sometimes I can. I remember last nights dream. I was in some disney channel / nickelodeon video game and everybody could fly. Like you know that pink ball thing that is a video game, i think its called Kirby or something? Where you press a certain button a bunch of times, and everytime you press it you would fly up higher? It was kind of like that. lol. My sister watches too much kids tv.

I like to keep a pencil and pad on my end table next to my bed. When I have an interesting dream, I wake up and write it down. Also, look up lucid dreaming on the internet and practice. It's fun!
