that only the christian holiday categorie are full of questions and the others are empty. I think that gives the other religions more dignity and better believers. Thanks for not pushing your beliefs on people in a public forum!

How am I pushing my religion? I'm not Jewish, but I wanted to learn about it and therefore was looking for questions in that category.

Most of the Christian holidays were borrowed from the Pagans. I hope you aren't taken in by the claim that Dec 25 is really Jesus' birthday. Dec 25 was the old Pagan Yuletide. The early Christians borrowed it for the celebration of Jesus' birth. Easter is the only Christian holiday that stands up to history as being even close to a really Christian, and even Easter has some association with the spring solstice. Read your history instead of demanding that God do it for you

i find it amusing that the question posted is in the "Chanukkah" section of religion- when the question itself- isn't even a "Chanukkah" question. and everyone is bickering over Christianity and Jesus. Shouldn't this be under "other-holiday"??

Want some good Chanukkah tid-bits? Spin a dreidel, eat some potato pancakes, open a gift each night, and watch "Eight Crazy Nights" with Adam Sandler. Good times!

Check out the religion and spirituality category if you want to see pushing religion. There's plenty of questions I have about other religions but I would rather research it myself than suffer the abuse of other users and be called ignorant.

There is a spread of fundamentalist Christians in this country, they sometimes believe their Christianity is better, so they "poach" other Christians.
