Yes, as a matter of fact I did. I get the DoD press releases. Unfortunately, it's a fact of war. Our brave men and women are doing their job and that's all that can be asked of them.
I have a challenge for you. Since you only want to represent the bad side of this war and you're ashamed of the service you supposedly did, I want you to find 2 positive stories on this war. I know you won't do it, because you can't. However, the challenge is there. Find 2 positive factors in this war from our soldiers or newspapers, whatever, just find them. I bet you can't because you're so filled with hate.

Are you aware that there were dozens of people killed in Los Angeles last night? That in Chicago there were several women raped? That in New York there were dozens of people assaulted and the perps will never be caught? That in any city across the US there are killings and assaults. And it's not a WAR ZONE!!!
The legnth of time defeating Germany is a point but it's also done with FAR less casualties than WWII. It took longer for America to get her own independence than it has for Iraq to get theirs.

If the average daily death rate you mentioned is true, then it truly is a striking comparison in relation to Israel's losses in its incursion into Lebanese territory. Another interesting point you stated is that we were able to take control of Nazi Germany, a nation that surpassed us, at the time, militarily, in a much shorter span of time than we are doing now against a country that is far less comparable to our own military.
I think you have touched on two good talking points that should be repeated as much as possible in every Internet forum, talk show, and new outlet in the world. The right wing supporters of Bush make it a point to repeat catch phrases and false assertions to a credulous public in order to brainwash them into supporting a war that has no merit. How much more effective would brief statements, like what you made, have in emboldening the resistance effort to end this senseless and futile occupation of Iraq.
Interestingly, I think it is Bush and his administration’s insistence on living in the past that has led to the quagmire that we are currently experiencing in Iraq. That is why I find your reference to WWII and Nazi Germany so apropos. They seem insistent on fighting terrorists, who resort to guerilla warfare; in the ways we fought established nations like Germany and Japan. Even a man, such as myself, who has no advanced degrees in international relations or history, knows that this idiotic. Who, after all, will we negotiate a surrender with? There is no head of state on the opposition’s side to concede defeat. Why are we looking at the success of this war from a standpoint of territorial gain, when the terrorists are not fighting over control of land but ideology? How do we know when we have killed a top official of a terrorist cell, or merely a rank and file member? Do these people wear uniforms denoting rank, the way Nazi Germany did, or have they published an organizational chart for our convenience?
To fight a terrorist movement they way you fight a conventional war makes about as much sense as me trying to root out cancer from a person’s body by shooting them with a gun, and claiming mission accomplished. Most instances were we stay the course of action when that course of action leads us further and further into calamity, results in most sensible people changing course. Of course we are talking about sensible people here, not imbecilic, and immoral neocon leaders. So my comparison isn’t really fair.

Unfortunately.. there are numerous troop members dying every day.. that is the unfortunate part of war.. I blame, however, those deaths on such individuals as Senator Durben, Boxer, Extreme left Democratic governors and many others who are siding with the enemy.. They are the ones killing our soldiers.. they are the ones who are the enemy of the U.S. and yet they remain in our political system.. Why?

Yes I read that last night as they are 10hrs ahead of where I live.
That is why I support the Troops because they really need to know people care about them and are concerned without going overboard and making them look like they're the bad guys in this whole thing.

To all those in support of this ill-considered war: Enlist. Now. The Army is desperate for men and women; they'll take anybody up to age 42! If it is a worthy cause, then sign-up. NOW. Otherwise, remember your hypocrisy before giving your opinion.

war sucks doesnt it, its a shame they died but its great to know they knew what awaited them out there and still gave there life to protect our beliefs, its a shame people like you attempt to shrink there deaths meaning by politicizing it, next you'll be saying that the road side bombs that the iraqis use should be recyclable...........
