English pretty much has become the universal language for communication. Everyone knows it. When you go to Paris, Rome, Tokyo, whatever, they speak it. Plus, the U.S. is the strongest and the best country in the world, everyone wants to come here, so they have to learn English. The U.K. is pretty strong too, and they speak English.
FRENCH: One thing I do know is the French language is the language of diplomacy, if that helps. However, diplomacy nowadays surely is not an option, if u catch my drift, just "ask" hezbollah

The whole earth was one language and God confound their language because of what man could do when they became one. Genesis 11: 1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. Genesis 11: 7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. Genesis 11: 8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Mankind will never have just one language because God saw the evil they would as one.

Replying to the previous answer: you see... Norwegian bokmål, on of the two official languages in Norway... IS artificial.
Esperanto is intended for that, without asking everybody to drop their native language.

Because language is a 'living thing'. You can't control it, invent it, or whatever. You see it on the example of Esperanto which was a failure. That's just the way it is. That is the nature of language.

It's called English. Not being snobby or sarcastic. Business is what provides for the health and welfare of every country's people. The language of business is English.

Because our world has many countries that are not united that would have to pass laws in their country for this to happen. I don't see the US agreeing to speaking , for instance, French or another country changing their language.
