I support border enforcement, not because I hate mexicans, but because I support things that I think might stand a chance of helping our country get out of debt one day. that article basically holds that were the border to remain open as it more or less is today, we can look forward to another 50 billion being involuntarily levied against the american taxpayer. Now, given, that only gets us to 25 january in terms of runaway government debt spending, but it's still significiant.
Basically, the Problem is thus: Mexico now has enough of its' citizens in our country that they think they can start rewriting our relevant laws in their favor. Couple that together with the whole 'reconquista' concept, and the whole La Raza racism spiel, and you have a Big Problem, on the scale that needs to get addressed by the federal government, I believe.
Mexico needs to become self-supporting. And, it's not like they lack the resources, or that we don't buy enough of their oil to make it happen. Further, given the general state of affairs in the world today, failure on their part to observe our laws has potentially even darker implications. My view is, a Really Patriotic Act would be to get that border fence in place without any further delay, and put Mexico on notice that they and their citizens need to start observing our immigration laws, or face being shut out of the US completely. Fair's fair, and we've been more than fair with Mexico for years, to the point where they're now DEMANDING, not asking, DEMANDING all sorts of things. From such attitudes is militancy born, personally I'm tired of the belligerency.
We basically need the Mexico Needs To Go Home Act, or something similar, at any rate something that'll see about 80-90% of their citizens who are in our country illegally get out and go fix their own social problems at home instead of trying to drag us into them. We've got our own, we've got our own homeless, our own sick, our own laundry-list-of-crap that needs to get taken care of.
Mexico has resources of its' own. It's time they used some of them to take care of some domestic business. We can't do it for them....

That was the smartest question I have ever seen posted by a repuke. Where are the facts?? Oh yes, I know where they are, they are being written up the repuke PR agents. Itl take them a day or two, they just need to come up with a story first.

Yeah, I saw that, and the link 'was no longer there'. It was an audio link and I guess they don't stay up long. Anyone can find the blurb. All they have to do is put 'cost' and 'illegal immigration' into their browser.
