Well you aren't the only one who thinks that way.. Carl Jung did and he was one of the respected in his field.

I don't believe He is a construct of our collective psyche. I am not even sure what you mean by that. I am guessing you mean thousands of years of believers passing down generations of belief systems and stories that evolved into Christianity or some other form of religion?
God is God, on his throne.
I believe that we see God act when we believe in Him. Jesus said on the cross that it was finished. It says in the New Testament that we have been handed the keys to heaven, what ever we bind in Jesus name will be bound in heaven and what we loose will be loosed in heaven.
We, as Christians, have the power of the Holy Spirit, which is the same power that raised Christ from the tomb in us.
If "we" don't see God moving it is because we are lack in our walk.
If an unbeliever doesn't see God moving, it is because they choose not to.
I believe in God, because of faith. Of what I have seen in my life. No one can have faith for another person. It has to be of your own.
I don't understand though, how people can see the beauty of the planet, the intricacies of space, the vastness of everything and not believe in a Creator. That baffles me.

God does stuff all the time...u just expect something different from what he is doing, u have to look around u....Here is a good example story thingy.....A man lives out in the country, and he is just surrounded by field and field and field, no cities or people, just field...One day it starts raining and the river was going to overflow, so the police come and tell the man that the river is going to overflow, he needs to evacuate..the man says "nope! god will pretect me, he always has and always will" so the police leave....Then the river gets higher and higher, and the fire department comes in boats telling him, he needs to get out of there, he is going to drown...the man says "nope! god will protect me, he always has and always will" so the fire department leaves...then the water gets so high that the man is on his roof, the military comes to try to rescue the man in a helicopter, but the mans still says "nope! god will protect me, he always has and always will" so the military leaves.....the man then drowned and when he gets to heaven he sees peter and says "I dont get it, i thot god would protect me and try to save me" and peter says "we did! we sent the police, fire department, and the military and u still didnt do anything."

OH my friend. GOd does something alright.
GO ddoes alot you just don't see it because you have chosen not to see it.
you heart and mind are hardened.
But GOd does do a lot of things. you'll start seeing it if you read the Bible and learning more.
