Ok i am completely hopelessly in love with my boyfriend. However i have one really huge problem. I leave Texas to attend college at Spelman in less than a week. He is staying in Houston to attend college there. Is it possible to be so young and commited from such a distance? I'm worried that he will find someone more suited to his taste than I, and want to avoid hurting. I know he has no intention of hurting me but is it just a recipie for disaster? I know i am not going to be looking cuz he is my first and only love. He has basically been my first EVERYTHING! But is love strong enough to last seeing each other about once a month for merely a weekend? Along with holidays for four long years? Please save me from hurting or encourage me to see it through. Cuz i'm TORN!

well...let me tell you every relationship is different and only time will tell if you two are truely meant to be or not. You two can sit down and talk about what you are feeling, tell him how you are scared and all your feelings!

My sister and her boyfriend started dating the summer after they graduated high school, 2 months later they went to college 4 hours away from each other...they saw each other about once a month only on the weekends...same as you... well long story short..they are getting married in May!! :)

I have to tell you dear that long distance relationships don't really work. Your life is going to change, so will his. Your interests will change. By time, you'll realize that he's a different person, so are you. I'm not telling you that it will not work out anymore. It might, but it might not. Leave it to God's hands. He sees the big picture. Allow yourself to see the world, and find the adult in you. If you were meant to be together, no force or distance in this world will ever separate you. By the way, I'm in love with my man and he's halfway across the world from where I am at the moment. We're holding on and going stronger day after day for three years now. Might work that way with you, might not. Wait and see :)

Hon, you don't have to make all the decisions right now. You can decide with him if you're going to date other people, and then, live through this next journey and see what happens.

I am very old now but many years ago I stayed committed to my boyfriend when we left for different colleges. The relationship continued- and we were happy. I spent weekends baby-sitting and saving up money for our future- not dating anyone else.

After two years apart, I transfered to his college and shortly after, he broke up with me. That was a very difficult time, but, looking back on it now, I know he was right. We were too different.

Best wishes to you!

if you try, you can accomplish that. but college is a great place to meet new people that are educated for the most part. good luck

when both hands meets, then only it clamps. so two way love. so both are in love each other, then no body leaves another one. if he really loves you, he would not leave you till you complete your education.o.k. be so. complete your education first.
