What type of pain?
If it's aches & pains you would need an anti-inflammatory, like aspirin or Ibuprophen(Advil).
Headaches respond well to Excedrin, which is a combination of an anti-inflammatory & Tylenol with a little caffiene added. (Caffiene helps your body absorb the medicine.)
(Ladies; cramps respond well with Excedrin as well!)

if your talking muscle aches I'd try ibueprofin...if that doesn't help Icy hot has these really cool patches that do wonders and you can wear them while you're running errands...Excedrine never works for my migranes...try taking two ibueprofin and laying down with a cold rag on the back of your neck...
