I would quite happily say thanks to God if she made herself known to me, but.....absolutely loathe organised religion.

Is this a dichotomy? I dont think so - if god exists and created the fabric of life - religion is man made.

I think religion may be man-made, but does not necessarily have to be that way; it's possible that God created a religion for his people to follow. Nonetheless, following the message of God is far more important that following any given religion, and I applaud your loving attitude. To that end, I would add just one thing to your philosphy of life - love everyone, no matter what. "For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same? So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect." One should always strive to be more, better. A decent human being is good, but a Mother Theresa is what we should hope to be.

That is not a question, the fact that you are on this site proves you want God to be real. You are in luck, God is real and if he were not neither would you be.Peace.
