I'm a nurse and I just received a letter in the mail that I have to fill out and return to the consumers affairs board. This is where all the professional licenses come from. They are now doing extensive background checks on anyone who holds a professional license or will be getting one. Also they are setting up appointments for all of us to have fingerprints taken. This is all being done because of all the craziness going on with people working in the medical profession committing illegal acts on the job. Such as giving false information about being qualified for the position when they clearly are not. I would think you getting a job with a felony would depend on what area you are seeking a position in, but with so many new changes in the way they screen applicants I think you may have some trouble getting hired. Good luck.

You have to wait at least 7 years after the ending of your parole before you can apply for an expungement from the court allowing you to get your civil rights back and get a license but that won't guarantee employment because the record is still there and employers will check.

It depends on the knowledge of the interviewer regarding the law, and or there prejudice thought the felon..

Many places hire felon's, if the crime was not related to the type of work they are to perform.

If you robe a bank and cross States, you can not be a bank teller.
But you may work in a hospital as a receptionist for example.

Usually the time period for felonies is 14 years. If the felony was more than 14 years ago you should be okay, unless you killed somebody intentionally or like if it was assault.

depends on the hospitals policy and the position you are applying for, for the most part all three of the hospitals I have worked for have not hired convicted felons for any patient care positions, but I know for certain one of the hospitals did hire them for other positions around the facility depending on the position I suppose.

So I really just think it depends on the hospital.

depends on what you did. If it was for axe murdering hospital patients while you were wearing a red lace teddy, motorcycle boots and a clown hat, most likely not

Probably not. But it would depend on what you are applying for and what you did. Axe murderers make lousy surgeons, and child abusers make horrible orderlies.
