ok gals like mushy & romantic stuff...
there are a few cliched ideas but they always seem to work
like going down on your knees & proposing her
putting the ring in her glass of wine or something...
or rather just be yourself & propose her....
you could even write her a sweet poem...

If you love each other it really doesn't matter how you do it,
Who am I kidding, its a moment you two will never forget.
Two major things to remember:
*Don't propose until you have a ring (even a cheap one if your broke, she won't care, I promise.)
*And get down on one knee
Duh, right? You'd be amazed how many men don't do the traditional thing anymore. Most women still like the chivilery idea of those two things.
It hard to give adivce on such an important and memorable moment, but just remember the more personal the better. If she is a big family person, then maybe do it front of her loved ones... or maybe even get tem involved (like that one diamonds are forever, or one of those companies, commercial). Or if that makes you to nervous a quiet intimate night might be right for you. Or you go more sneaky, like Writing a letter to the editor in a paper that she reads everyday or on a regular basis and then you can say all the things that you sometimes can't think of under pressure (But as soon as you see her, which should be as soon as she gets through reading, get down on one knee and..well you know the drill. Maybe you want to do something more estavigant and get ahold of your local news station or her families local news station and fool her into doing a fake interview for a common(regular program, nothing out of the ordinary) "Just Folks" kinda profile to appreciate someone, maybe not even for her but where she just has to be there for a friend or family, and show her how much you love her by telling everyone in the area. That would surprise her.
Well I got a million of these things... Maybe this will give you an even better idea of how to make yours and her moment special for you.

Get down on one knee, present the ring, and then ask her. If you're looking for a good setting to do this, then I would suggest taking a walk along a beach somewhere (when it's kinda dark out) and when the moon shines, get down on one knee and ask. Also, before you present the ring, tell her all of the things that make you happy to be with her, all of the things that you think are some of her most wonderful qualities.

I suggest a nice romantic dinner and place her ring in a jello desert !
Make sure you say Will you marry me from the bottom of your heart with the sweetest words you can imagine.

If you think the timing is right and you love her and she loves you. There are alot of things you can do if you don't have the money for a fancy wedding. Elope at a place like AngelsWatchInn(.com) or vegas or you can plan an inexpensive wedding. But yes you should ask her. You only live once. Good Luck and Congrats.

hmmm... you can give her 100 pcs of balloons and tell her to pop all 99 using a needle or pin, and keep the 100th balloon (it is the balloon which has a wedding ring inside.). For the 99 balloons, each balloon will have a piece of paper with a written message of love. after she pops 99 of it, give her the 100th balloon. When she pops it, the ring will definitely drop on the floor. Pick up the ring, look straight in her eyes, and say "will you marry me?"

Take her out to her favorite restaurant and put the ring in the desert that she's having.
If you guys like going to the beach or out to forest preserves or parks for hikes, go there and just ask her, make sure you have a ring and something nice to say...like I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you....yada yada yada.
Just think for a moment, what kind of story would this day make for your friends your kids.

awww. Do it somewhere romantic. Make it so that she remembers it for her whole life. I would say on a boat, at the beach, at a fancy restraunt. Hope for the best and good luck. =]
