Am I the only one out there that always wind up with a shopping cart with a wheel that seems like it's got a flat and makes squeeking sounds,even when I go and exchange it for a different one

Why is it that I always gets that horrible sounding shopping cart with it's squeaking and dragging and clicking???!!!!!! And the sad part is, is that the cart sounds fine til I get right past the fruit and veggie section and then starts making a scene....by then, i am too far into my shopping to turn around, get a different buggie and transfer food to the new one, which would probably make the same horrible noise once i got past the meat section!!!!! LOL and I thought I was the only one that always got bad buggies!!!

Shopping carts have bad wheels because what happens is they have a rule at store of not replacing the wheels until they fall off or are severely damaged. Also you will notice that a lot of shopping carts are taken out of the stores and brought all over, this causes a lot of wear and tear on the tires and mileage just like in your car. The tires are pushed across floors and concrete and even used for joy rides. It is the job of several individuals to go searching for these carts in disclosed areas and bring them back to the store, and if they are in usable condition, they are used over and over again. The squeaky wheels are due to rust from the weather outside and require oiling. In some cases children ride in the upper seating area which can also put strain on the tires and stability of the cart. no you are not the only one that ends up with a shopping cart that has a bad wheel....but i think stores should try and keep then fixed is what i think...but i try and get a good one...because i am sick of the noise and everyone can hear you a mile away and or it wobbles every direction...it is hard to do anything with when you get things in them anyway...well have a good day and i will not have to deal with a shopping cart today...anyway...

lol i have found u! i ALWAYS seem to have this problem and everyone is starring at u like god dam it why dont u trade that cart for a new one and u just wanna scream this is the 3rd one!!!!! u know what hurts when u get a cart in ur heel oh my god i didnt think i wud recover my husbands friend was with us and he pushed the cart uptoo much and it hit my heel..OUCH

because as soon as they get two bad weels, they get discarded. Because each cart has 4 wheels, the chances that one is faulty / squeaky is pretty high if they have been used for a while.

it happens to me too, its because fat people hang on the cart and sit in the cart and then they ruin them!!
