bring my own, eating out is too expensive, leftovers are the best

I usually go out to eat a few times per week but have a few fairly healthy restaurants that are decent priced (like 7 dollars) and serve enough food to eat 2-3 meals. I bring the left-overs on the other days and heat them up in the microwave oven. Even if you go to a more expensive restaurant like Sizzler, for about 10 dollars you can order an entree and all-you-can-eat salad and food bar. Eat from that (because you can't take it with you) and then take your entree and baked potato with you home. One day you can take your veggies and baked potato with some cheese or something added. The next day you can make a sandwich out of your steak or whatever you got. 3 meals for 10 dollars-- not bad. The key to this is to always only order water to drink. Soda and such can set you back a few dollars each meal.

I find that brown-bagging it can be expensive, too, if you buy all the little juices and single-serving items. But it is a nice change of pace sometimes.

I don't really work, I go to school, but I guess that could count as my job. Anyway, I do bring my lunch and I usually bring somethin' simple that doesn't require me warming it up or whatever. I may bring a sandwich, chips, fruit, cookie and a drink like a coke or something. Some days I'll buy an extra chicken sandwich from Chick-Fil-A or some place like that when I'm getting dinner, so I can bring one for lunch the next day.

I get away from work! Get fresh air, focus the eyes on distant objects (slows down the development of my nearsightedness). Refresh my mind with things that are not work related. Take my lunch with me or buy cheep fast food. Parks are great! Once I worked 10 minutes from a major zoo, got a membership and would walk/eat 3 or more times a week (their fast food wasn't too bad). It helps to have a 1 hour lunch.

Where? Home OR Carl's Jr., McDonald's, In-n-Out, Hometown Buffet, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Costco's fast food window, the Gyro place down the street, or Chuy's Mesquite Grill. But usually go home.

Studies say it's better to get away from the workplace. It improves mental health and work performance.

I am amazed that some of my co-workers eat breakfast and lunch out everyday. Wow! Expensive! I generally take a can of soup, chips, a Jello cup, and a soda.
