The Church needs money for a number of reasons.

Take a church that a person may attended... A building costs money to support-electric, gas, water, ect. People who work there need money for their wages-everyone from the clergy to the office workers to the janitors. Plus the amounts that go to charities or service to the community done by the church, some have soup kitchens in them. Others donate to larger organizations which use the money around the world. Trust me, as far as I know, no one at my church is getting rich from what is given on Sundays. From what I read in the bulletin, most weeks we are short several thousand dollars at least.

This is only based on my experience but I have no doubt that it follows likewise for people in any religion. The money they give goes to service and support. This allows them to do the work God wants them to do.

God does not need money. That was set up in Moses time(tithe) to support a tribe called Levi so they could minister to the other tribes. Later it transended to supporting individual churches and the pastor. The pastor would soley live on the tithe and care for the church and church staff. Some churches today are so small that the pastor basically doesn't live off of tithes...they work too and try to pay the church bills with the tithes. Other "donations" go to other ministries that the church will try to help support. So God does not need the money. The pastor, church, and ministries do.

So that the preachers can drive off in their Mercedes and go to their million-dollar homes. This is even though Jesus Christ - supposedly God's son - said, "it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to attain the kingdom of God." Have you ever seen one of these preachers out there on the corner with a "Will Work For Food" sign? Of course not! And you won't because they take in all the bucks during the Sunday collection. They get rich, while the congregation gets poorer. Guess they don't want to go to heaven - they just want to tell everyone how to get there. (yeah, right!)

He doesn't.

However, if you are a Christian and are trying to understand the principle of giving, then you must first understand that it's ALL His.

Your job is His, your food is His, your house is His. If you are thankful for all He has done for you, then why wouldn't you be willingly to give back. And I"M not talking about to the church building. How about sending your money to Feed the Children, or Red Cross? How about giving it to some poor family that you know.

He let's you keep 90% of what is already HIS.

There is much more to be taught on the Principle of Giving. And I say 10% because it was God's Law. We are not under the Law now, but it is still a good bench mark.

Not God but the church-
If we look in positive way part of the money you give every sunday goes to the poor and thus help the poor get by everyday. In "another"way-it goes to Vatican city-it's hard to maintain such big city.

God's work needs to be funded constantly, but obviously church is most often run on Sundays -- therefore they take an offering. Churches do a lot more than you probably think....

Religion is easy money when there are so many gullible followers prepared to believe.

For far too long we have been inundated with religious preachers knocking on doors, screaming on street corners, babbling in church, and worst of all, using TV to ram their beliefs down our throats and those of our children. Prophets or profits? I think the answer is obvious. Hands raised upwards, then into the pockets, let’s give money money money.

A little old lady comes on stage, push her forehead, she falls over and low and behold, she’s cured of her mental and physical woes. Hands raised again, yep you’re on to it, let’s give more money money money. Check out the preachers shiny white teeth as they count their gold.

Here’s the truth. Sam has a lunatic in his head, crippled legs, done his bit for the country, but Sam manages to come on stage smiling, gets pushed over, falls flat on his rear end and he’s still got a lunatic in his head, and he’s still a cripple. Guess what, no money money money. That’s the real truth. All of the magic cures are just fake stage plays, and they do it for money, money, money.

The rest of religion is just a quiet infestation of the mind, a slow stage play, but for the same reason ... money of course.

God doesnt! That overbearing, hypocritical, lying, rob from the poor give to the rich (himself), coniving, coveting, taking advantage of old people, laughing his **** off behind the peoples back who he bilked of their hard earned money, bass terd! And this is NOT just your average TV evangelist! I worked with a preacher who always seemed to come to work on mondays with at least 3 grand in his pocket and drove his caddy to work! Had everyone and their brother do any church repair for nothing including milking the local lumberyards for free materials!

AMEN BROTHER KLU!

So He can afford to pay the utilities for the church, and all the candles, and to fix the roof, and to buy the little boys for the priest and the beautiful robes for the clergy and all of those other things that God just can't do without

Time is relative. If it wasn't sunday, then it would be monday.

I heard that there used to be 14 days in a week, but by halving it to 7, God essentially doubled his intake. I wish I could do that!
