I am stopping in Hawaii on my way from living in Japan for a year. The original plan was that my boyfriend from my hometown would meet me there for a romantic reunion, but he just told me he can't afford to do it. I could easily afford it just by taking on one or 2 extra lessons for a month.
The problem is that I get kind of angry about his inability to make money and then to budget it. He could have afforded this trip to Hawaii had he planned better, and he still could afford it if he just put his mind to it. But I know he won't, the only way I'm going to get him there is by my own means.
Should I pony up for it? It won't be the same there without him, but I can imagine myself resenting him for it if he never learns how to manage his money better.

My only suggestion is to be wise and pay attention to what is going on now. Never let this guy become more than a boyfriend. If you would end up marrying him one day he will not be a good leader or financial provider for you and your family.

Have fun in Hawaii!

if you give him money, he's gonna take advantage of you. tell him that he has to learn better and start taking care of his money and how he spends it. dont let yourself loose 2,000$ by buying him a ticket, its a waste of money for you, and just another advantage for him. so. the answer is ..NOOOO

girls should never pay for anythin unless your a little richer than him and if he's broke. Other wise don't buy it for him.

no, don't buy him a free ticket, if he really wanted to go and to see you then he would suck it up and save the money.
