That depends on the status of your fiance at the time. If your fiance is a non-immigrant visa holder that allows derivatives (students and certain work caregories) you would have to be married to qualify as his/her derivative. If your fiance is a citizen, he/she can apply for a fiance visa for you with the Department of Homeland security. If your fiance is a green card holder you would have to get married or qualify for a green card on your own (diversity visa or work or family based immigrant visa).

Your soon to be wife can ask the american consulate for a fiances visa and you can come into the country without any problems, but remember that it has to be her who should apply for the visa.
