What are the ingredients in a Cuban sandwich and how do make them? I used to eat these all the time in Florida and loved them. It's the only thing I miss about Florida!

Florida was a horrible miserable place to live and I feel sorry for those who still live there that don't know any better!~ Thanks to all those who REALLY did answer the question!

The traditional Cuban sandwich is made with Cuban bread. The bread is cut in half and buttered on both sides. Dill pickles, roast pork, ham, and Swiss cheese are cold, added in layers and thinly sliced. The pork is an essential ingredient and it needs to be slow roasted with Cuban spices, giving the pork a distinct garlic and citrus flavor. The sandwich is then lightly toasted in a sandwich press called a "plancha" until the bread is crisp and the cheese is melted. The press both heats and compresses the sandwich. A traditional Cuban sandwich includes yellow mustard, but never mayonnaise, lettuce, or tomato.

You live in Alaska and the only thing you miss about Florida is Cuban sandwiches? You are weird first, and second, they sell Cuban sandwiches at Wal-Mart and Publix.

Ham, Swiss cheese, roast pork, pickles, mustard, mayo, bread, heat and eat. If you add lettuce or salami or any other ingredient then is not a cuban sandwich, this is one made by cubans. just do it the way I tell you and taste it , you'll see...

A little bitty cuban, some cocaine, a slice of cigar, a dash of scud missle powder, and just a pinch of Fidel Cstro's kidney all stacked on ciabatta bread . I think it is Item # 6 on the jack-in-the box value meal menu.

Oh, and you can get a hot apple pie with that.
