I am taking a cruise in a week to the bahamas and though a hurricane could happen the boat just goes another way to another port...its not like a tornado we can see the hurricane and where its likely to go. If there is any likelyhood of the hurricane hitting they just travel another way to another port.

That happened to a friend of mine a month AFTER the usual hurricane season. Almost 100% of the passengers were sick. The listing of the ship was so bad that over half of the dishes and glassware were broken so people had to eat in assigned shifts so there would be enough plates for everyone.

People were walking up the stairs on their hands and knees to keep from falling. Several port visits were cancelled and at others they wouldn't let the passengers get off.

However, she said the crew was fantastic, so helpful and kind trying to get sea sickness meds passed around.

That scared me enough so I will never take a cruise when there is a possibility of being near the hurricane season.

I went throughout the time of hurricane season. I only watched the climate forecast and have been given visitors coverage. i became informed that the deliver will detour in the event that they understand a hurricane is head their way. because of fact that hurricane season starts in June and leads to November that a brilliant stretch to handle while attempting do a cruise. you're taking probability each time your going everywhere it particularly is coastal. **observe to Time traveller**Carnival owns Princess and there have been a number of HC that hit east coast. no longer all make land fall, yet a minimum of 10 or greater a 300 and sixty 5 days strengthen on the East coast.

Being able to move about freely in the Caribbean, cruise ships (like airliners,) can avoid weather conditions easily. In fact, Carnivals 'Ecstasy' was used to help evacuate Katrina victims from New Orleans.
