Um, if they wanted to follow the law, they would have.

Yes and No, you are absolutely wrong. We can pick and choose, and have for a long time. Poor people's taxes don't pay for them, we pay for their education and services. If we let all poor people come here our education would tank even more than it has already from illegal immigration, and our country would look like theirs. There is a limit on how many poor people we want to pay for and the illegal immigrants are ignoring that limit.

There is no 'entitlement' for foreigners to live in the United States.

Mind you, if all the illegals didn't come, we would almost certainly relax the number of those who could come legally. As it is, we have too many poor immigrants who can't speak English here already, and we are paying for them. We don't want more.

There are, in my opinion, about 35 different topics linked to this issue that makes it for a very difficult problem.

I debated this with a friend at work, and I think we ended up with 35.

But anyhow, my point is this:

To solve the problem, despite how unradical and how unpopular the idea is, we have to RATIONALIZE, and then we have to ACCEPT, and then we have to COMPROMISE.

The idea that millions of illegals leave tomorrow and then wait in line to see who gets picked is unreasonable. First of all, it'd be a pretty big line. And it's scorching hot weather down there.

Now, you may say, "let them endure it." But our officials would also be enduring it, so it's not just illegals who suffer.

We have to ACCEPT many won't leave, simply because they won't, and we can't kick them out because we can't tell the difference between illegals who have legal documents and get away with working at a factory, for example.

So we have to accept that there are millions of people we can't control at the drop of a hat.

And to compromise, we have to consider what needs to get done to fully discover these people without alienating them into hunkering down because they're afraid they'll be exposed and then kicked out.

This is the key issue, however, because no politician is willing to step down and propose that we should befriend illegals.

Not if he wants to run for a higher office position, of course.

So American political fear keeps us from real, helpful solutions.

And a Mexican fear of financial scarcity keeps illegals from going about it the legal way.

Like I said, you may have your opinions, but this is an issue with way too may issues and topics of discussion.

It's no cut-throat black and white.

This is definitely gray.

I expect the undocumented (illegal) aliens (from any country) know that they are breaking the law but the opportunities in the USA are so huge they would rather take the chance. Imagine living where you feel there is no hope and that by going to the USA you have hope. And many know that if they attempted to enter by "legal" means it would be years and years of frustrated waiting and most would never be admitted!

Most illegal immigrants to the US were invited here!

Companies put ads in newspapers and magazines in foreign capitals seeking workers, and tell these people that they're better than US workers. They put US workers down as being 'lazy' and 'picky' because we want OSHA rules and wage/hours laws followed!

It's an unholy alliance between major US employers and the immigrants. Until employers are jailed and their companies closed down for recruiting and hiring low-wage and deliberately mistreated foreigners, wave after wave of illegal immigrants will continue to arrive daily--with the attitude that they have the RIGHT to be here!

Wheels of justice turn slow. This is what I think. Once tax time comes, and the back taxes have not been payed, Uncle Sam will want his.
Amnesty=pay taxes.
If they become American Citizens, they WILL be required to pay American taxes or go to jail for a long long time.
Either way it's a win win situation bacause
A They aren't going to pay the backtaxes specified in Dubya's address to them and
B If given amnesty, they will cheat the IRS causing them to land in jail

They are disrespecting our laws but, at the same time, you cannot just pick and choose who comes here. You can stop individuals who have committed crimes here but that's about it.

The question is why don't we defend our own country with our troops from illagals than sending them to die for people who don't want us in their country.
