If you have coolant leaking into the cylinders, then you have lost compression, so you are loosing lots of power. You wont be running rich, per se, but your power is gone. The smoke is symptomatic of the leaky head, and possible oil getting sucked into the cylinder too. It's likely you have warped the head. At least replace the head gasket before you continue to drive the car, or serious damage will occur.

A bad head gasket won't make it run rich, but it will make it run like crap. Coolant leaking into the engine will also cause oil dilution and rapid wear throughout the engine.

Coolant getting into the cylinders is one symptom of a blown head gasket. Get it fixed!

The rich condition and power loss is more likely related to a drop in compression. Before you replace the head gasket take the head to a machine shop to have them check the deck.

Yes it could. But it may be more than a bad head gasket. If you overheated the engine very badly, you may have warped a head. I had a Toyota pick up that did the same thing. It never did run very well afterward.

If you're not careful it could make your engine seize up and that's expensive. Get to a garage and get a new cylinder head gasket fitted making sure they scrape the head first. Meanwhile you will lose power and get steam coming out of the exhaust pipe.

there is several thing that may be happening but the most likely thing that may have happened. is that you you have a lost if compression and that you are pulling air into the cylinder or cylinders making the air fuel mixture see that you have to much air and tells the ecm to that the motor is running lean to add more fuel . ceck with a can of 2 plus 2 found at your local auto parts store and spray it around the head and intake spraying just a shoot at time and see if the motor changes idle or rpm if thi it changes you may have a worped head or intake. be carefull around exhaust or headers

yes it will,,,and it will also cause it to lock up if anti freeze gets in to the crank case,,if you got a milky look to your oil,,this means it is getting in there,,and it will cause it to run really rich,,,and loose power,,it will do some real damage to it if water or anti freeze gets in the oil,i own,and operate a repair shop,,and i have seen enough of them this year that have over heated,,so you need to get it looked at real soon,,i hope this helps.
