I have heard of no cases where ear wigs actually get into your ear. If you think about your anatomy though, your eardrum is protecting the outside ear from the inside of the ear (which is where all your hearing "parts" are). So, you would know if a bug "ate" it's way through the eardrum and into the inner ear! ;) Make any sense?

They don't make you go deaf
They are called ear wig's because they use to climb into the wig's that the lord's and noble would ware in the 15th thru 19th centuries, because of the material they were made from.

they're only called earwigs because of the shape of their wings.
they won't go in your ears at all, that's a myth
