This is e very good and essential question.
What happens, when 'Christians' pray?
In fact, one can pray in as many different ways as often as poeple pray. The same person itself doesn't pray the same way every time.
Well, praying for another person ? If the prayer asks just for you to be protected from evil, bad luck, illness etc., one can accept it's a prayer on your behalf. If the prayer asks for that you change your attitude towards god or religion or the family or the state or the military etc., - if it claims that you become 'reasona- ble' , 'chaste', 'a nice guy', a 'diligent student', a 'follower of Jesus Christ', it has more the quality of an incantation, of casting a spell on you by christian formulas.
The latter category of praying for others does not respect the spiritual autonomy of the one prayed for - and one even might ask whether such kind of praying is against god's will. It's a complex psychological and theological issue.

Some if not all actually do pray for you. There was a question last night asking people to pray for someone's girlfriend. I answered and said that I would, and I did. There is power in prayer. I actually only prayed for that.

Some do and some don't. It depends on not only the person's character but also what they are feeling that instant. I've prayed for people that I wouldn't necessarily have had to heart to, but God impresses on you someone to pray and you want to be obedient. I think a lot of people forget to pray for people after they've said they would, but that's just human nature. Remember Christians are make human mistakes just like anyone else. It's there relationship with Jesus Christ that saves them from their mistakes. I'll pray for you know so I don't forget. God Bless.

Fact is, not everything people say they are going to do actually happens. Praying is not exclusive to just Christians, so whether they worship Christ or not doesn't matter when it comes to invoking a blessing towards someone. I'm very sure that these people have very good intentions towards your situation/s, but you can't expect to have everyone checking up on you. Even if they don't pray for you or simply forget to, the mere fact that they wanted to is what's important. Intentions are sometimes worth more than the actions themselves.

I would rather have mailed you the answer but I suppose posting here is better than not replying at all. The answer to your question in an UNEQUIVOCAL YES! What an honor to pray for you. What a joy. We long for you to understand that the desire of our heart is not to "convert" you so we can put another notch on the cover of our bible. Cos we can't convert. That bible of ours says that unless the Holy Spirit woos you--you ain't gonna come to a saving knowledge of Christ. So when I say I am going to pray for you---you can believe that is what I plan to do. But never think I am praying for a "convert" cos that doesn't do anything for either of us.

It depends on how faithful they are to praying. There are many Christians who have prayer ministries and they are prayer warriors who are just meant to pray pray pray.
So if you can see that the person who says they will pray for you is a praying type of person, most and likely they ARE praying for you in private too.

I only checked out about ten or twelve answers - yes/ no no/yes - so pretty much either way.
I am Christian and I would say that when I pray I pray for EVERYONE. So, yes I would pray for you too.
You cannot ask God to answer your prayers for one person and not another - it must be all or nothing - And by the way, do you actually believe in God?

The first step to stop you / anybody from worrying something is by saying " I'll Pray for you! " As, the way to get out from your problem will be shown by God, but the thing that you should have is "believe'' condition so the solution would be appear. What should I do to make you believe of something?

If I say I'm going to pray for you, I mean it and I do it. I usually write down the people from Yahoo that I need to remember to pray for, and I do.

God bless!

Probably, but most Christians' prayers never go above the ceiling. There is a protocol to prayer, like most things in the Christian life, and most Christians don't care about protocol. They just do what they feel or what they see other Christians doing. You don't need prayers. You need bible doctrine.
