First of all, I'm a Christian. Yes... it's big business in some cases. My wife's church advertizes. They don't pay taxes. They get lots of volunteer labor. There is no dress code. It's a quantity, not quality church.
Then there's TBN on TV. What a joke. These people don't even try to hide the fact that it's all about money. This network is good for a laugh.

Some use it for personal gain; but the most common reward for spiritual service is that which is done for God and is not rewarded on earth as much as in heaven where good, pure things done become a beautiful, lasting crown, a treasure in heaven where theives will never steal and dust and moths will never corrupt.

Religion is a source of income, but spirituality is not. The true spiritual one has no relation with the religions. If anyone says so, he is a hypocrite.

For religion business, there is no much investment needed. Every individual is a source of income. The priests, rabbis, gurus, mullas all squeeze them for their benefit.

A lot of people use God to get rich I suppose, but did you ever consider also that religion COSTS A LOT! There are the buildings, lights, electrical equipment, paper costs, materail costs, etc. In my opinion, people don't give enough--it would be nice to have some extra to give to the poor!

A lot of giving is done to the movie theaters and restaurants that is not given to the Church that TRULY FEEDS and INFORMS.
