egg is straight from a chicken, as in yolk & white in a shell. Used to make omlettes, poach, fry, boil it etc
Easter eggs are usually candy - marshmellow covered in chocolate, hollow chocolate, chocolate with caramel centre or solid chocolate IN THE SHAPE OF AN EGG sold around easter time in western countries as a symbol of new life andChrist rising from the dead. Crafty people also blow the innards out of egg shells through a needle hole at both ends then dye, colour or paint the egg shells with patterns as easter ornaments or decorations - no candy involved here.

a real egg makes more mess when you throw it at someone.. they also fly further and can be used to put on a spoon to race... quite usually we find the easter egg is too large to balance on a spoon, and this egg racing activities usually happen in the summer so it's not a good option to use a chocolate egg...
a real egg can hatch into a chicken and sometimes an easter egg if ure lucky can hatch in to a lovely little bunny!!!! LOL...

An easter egg is a symbolic representation of new life, and comes from the traditional pagan spring time festival celebrating the fertility goddess Eostre (after whom the female hormone eostrogen is named), which the christians hijacked for their own purposes, before ruthlessly supressing the pagan religion.
The irony is you often hear christians moaning that easter eggs represent the hijacking of easter by chocolate companies.
