A shape shifting tree -- being able to bend and change shape as needed or as appropriate. However, the first trees that came to mind for me were the Banyan trees with it's never-ending roots; the silk cotton tree with its reputation for housing spirits; the weeping willow tree for the same reason another person mentioned -- crying for us; a strong oak tree and a baobab tree for it's ancient-ness.

The tree of life of course.

We see this in Genesis in the Garden of Eden and in Revelation.

The tree of life gives the human being the strength to stand in the glory of God.

A plain reading would teach us that this is a real tree but in my discussions with Chrsitians I have been persuaded to believe that this is allegory, and that the tree of life is symbolism for Jesus the Christ.

That if we were to put ourselves in the shoes of a Christian and believe as they do, that Jesus Christ is literally the tree of life, that eating of the fruit of Jesus we can stand in the prescense of God. Not literal fruit but "believe".

I hope people see your question for what it is a serious one.

Hmm its pretty incredulous for God to be a tree. I mean, He's bigger than a tree, in all aspects of the word bigger, so why should He stoop so low and be a tree, of all things?

He's not, and this is a dumb question. Seriously. Any tree that you can imagine is not free from eventual destruction. God, however, is.

He told us that. He said in John 15:1: 'I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.' And then in John 15:5: 'I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.'
I hope I have helped you!

Looking at all the trouble in the world today I would have to say that he'd be a weeping willow.
