It is normal for some of your hair to be darker. As far as evening it, the only thing that you can do is to color it in the same shade. Although, I must warn you that the color may not come out even because hair colors also create highlights (meaning that some of your hair will look darker) and dark hair is very resistent to grasping hair color. That said, use good shampoos and conditioners like Matrix and use a leave-in conditioner like Enjoy to keep your hair healthy.

Well, if you want to lighten the black part of your hair, you could put lemon juice in it, and sit in the sun. I'd section of the black sections and do it that way. Either that or dye your hair -- which I am not advocating. As for making your hair less wavy, you could blow dry it straight. But if you are at all athletic still, and you sweat, your hair willquickly revert back to waviness. I'd sugggest "slicking" your hair back into a ponytail while you sleep or while playing sports -- twisting the ponytail itself into a bun. Whe you take it out the bun and ponytail holder, your hair should be surprisingly straight. If all else fails, there's always a relaxer/straightener -- which I am NOT advocating!
