What connection is better, a VGA connection or a Component connection when hooking up my LCD TV to my cable box. The instructions say VGA for very best followed by Component, I question that though.

You are right to question that. There should be no difference. HOWEVER (there's always a however) the cables may make a difference. Many low-priced VGA cables are poor quality and may not carry the full bandwidth of the HD signal. If your cable is only a couple of feet, it probably is ok. To be sure, get a good quality VGA cable qualified for HD bandwidth. Or, get component cables, since they are designed for full bandwith HD transmission.

They are both excellent. I prefer component.
