According to the reading I have done regarding hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), the brain, when it senses that blood sugar is low, will do sometimes strange things to get the blood sugar (glucose) out of storage and into the blood stream. Adrenaline is one sure way to do this. If thinking of suiciding causes you to get a spurt of adrenaline, then low blood sugar is probably the cause of your depression in the first place.
Suggestion? The next time you start thinking about suicide, go to the kitchen and get some protein, meat, a can of tuna (salmon is better) or whatever, and eat it. Also have some carbohydrate, like a handful of chips, an apple, or some carrots/celery, and also some nuts or peanut butter. Eat at least 2 ounces of the protein. Then drink a glass of water and do something active for 30 minutes, such as a walk, dancing, singing. You may find your mood has changed a bit for the better.
Chronic low blood sugar can also cause self-esteem problems, anger management problems and a whole bunch of other physical and mental nasties. You may want to check out the symptoms link on www.hufa.org, and see how you check out.
Low blood sugar is an inherited condition (genetic). If your mom or dad or their families have a history of diabetes, heart trouble or low blood sugar then that is why you may have it.
As you can see from my notes above, exercise, when combined with a low glycemic carbohydrate diet, is important to mental health.
Keep on plugging at the gym - but keep a protein/nutrition bar handy too.
Best wishes.

Here you can find a very effective natural treatment for diabetes: http://diabete-cure.gelaf.info
Diabetes can be "reversed" or go into "remission". I believe that what that is is decreasing the need to take medications. A person who has diabetes will always have it... but there are cases where a type 2 can either reduce medications or even eliminate them... but will still need to watch diet, get plenty of exercise and keep their weight down. This is called management and control. However, that does not mean that there will never be one. Research has taken huge advances and the more scientists learn about it, the higher likelihood that a cure might come about someday.
While I did recently read an article that stated gastric lap band or gastric bypass MAY be a potential cure, more research is needed and even if this one day is a cure, it would only be effective on type 2s who are obese since neither of those procedures are performed on people who are of normal weight or body mass. Stem cell transplants are still highly controversial and most likely, have a long way to go before it is approved as a diabetes cure by the FDA. Since the vast majority of diabetics are type 2 (roughly 90%), those of us who are type 1 seem to get lost in the shuffle. EMT type 1 for more years than I care to remember, use a pump. Let me add that when I mean diabetes can be controlled and managed without medication but with diet, exercise and weight control, I'm referring to type 2. This is not an option for type 1s, who must take insulin, either by injections or a pump, to survive.

Oh my god yes..a very close person to me (dont want to reveal) is a naturally depressed person, and has changed so much due to going regularly to the gym and has lost over 40 lbs! I have personally seen the effects of this. What it does, is gets the mind off of oneself and focuses it on an activity that in the long run, changes the body and makes them feel so much better about themselves. Get off answers and go to the gym! It will work.

It definitely helps.
When you exersise regularly, your body produces chemicals called endorphins. This is the chemical that gets to the brain and makes you feel happy for no particular reason.
It takes regular exersise to get your body to produce them.
I only know about the other way around. If I don't exersise I get slightly depressed. Doing competitive sports since age 6.

Most people are happy because they lost wieght and it imporved their self image. Exerciese helps relieve stress and that could cause some people to start. Ive never seen someone depressed exercise, usually its the other way around and they let themselves go. Mostly its the imporved energy and self image that makes people lost weight.

It makes a difference for mild depressions. If you are suicidal, it would be a part of an integrated treatment regime. Is it worth it? Absolutely - it will help more than depression.

Yes. It forces you to focus on things other than negative thoughts, and the endorphins released during physical activity actually make you feel better.
Best of luck.

yes.... but you need to do it and keep doing it...
exercise keeps the happy hormones pumping through your body... also I would try exercise that is not gym orientated as well such as walking, running, swimming, cyclig etc... the sunshine and fresh air both assist in lifting the mood...
