So what if you prove evolution wrong (which is going to be hard as we know it is real) it still doesn't make you right until you find some evidence to support your theory that god exists (which is going to be hard because he doesn’t)

You are totally correct about all of this. Proving one idea wrong doesn't automatically make any other idea right. That is the main tactic of creationists. They take statements out of context that debate some of the details of Evolution and pretend that makes the whole theory wrong. Scientists don't doubt that Evolution is essentially correct. I recently replied to a letter in a newspaper from a pastor who said, "Evolution is no more scientific than creation". I have three letters ready to reply to that nonsense. These imbeciles redefine "Science" and "Religion" to suit their purposes and claim Evolution is a Religion and creation myths in Genesis are scientific. How absurd! He said there's overwhelming evidence for God's existence. As you know, there is no objective scientific evidence at all. Several savants said people accept God on faith and the savants reject him for the same reason. Thomas Jefferson told his nephew in a letter that he wouldn't disagree with the lad if he concluded that there is no God after a critical and objective study of the Bible. The Bible was just another Classic to Jefferson. He wrote his own Bible with the supernatural stuff removed. Why do Christians imagine-not think- proving Evolution wrong will make them right. They are incapable of mature thinking and pathetically illogical. You are sure to have Bible verses quoted to you and have zealots prove your point unintentionally.

You are correct. Proving evolution wrong will not prove Christianity right. It will only eliminate one possibility.

But, you made an interesting statement: "...we know it is real..."
I do not write this to bash you, only to point out that you are doing the same thing Christians do. The only proof I have seen for evolution is a bunch of scientists stating that it is a fact. However, there is no data supporting this. There has been no data generated using the scientific method that supports evolution, just as there has been no data generated using the scientific method that supports the existance of God. Without that data, evolution and creation can only be said to be theories, scientificly speaking.

What this means, then, is that your knowledge is based in faith just as a Christian's knowledge is based in faith. Your faith is in science. Their faith is in God.

let's look at this another way. What is the statistical likelihood of 10 carbon atoms coming together in just the right way to form life? Well, since science has tried and failed each time, the likelihood is very low. What is the statistical likelihood of an all-powerful being creating all that we know? I don't know. Science has yet to produce such a person.

Evolution is still a theory, so it cannot be real. You don't really think we came into existence via evolution, do you? Join the goon squad if you answer "Yes". I don't need hard evidence to prove the existence of God. And I don't go around proving people wrong to prove I'm right. It is entirely your choice who or what you believe, and any true Christian will never twist your arm to do otherwise. Any good Bible study will give you all the information you need - if you want to disregard it, be my guest.

HMM. I thought Evolution WAS a theory. You have to give the Lord just as much of a chance as you gave this theory of evolution. It IS much easier to believe something like evolution, ......it's all dreaming and wondering and HMMMMM I thinks, no real common sense involved. The bible IS history. Have you ever heard of Caesar? He is in history books AND the bible. He met Jesus. There is sooooo much more that you obviously haven't learned. Read the bible and learn about that history, then read history books, there is sooooo much more that makes sense that way than the way you are trying to go. God Bless.

Good luck getting a real answer not spittle.

But I think it rather likely that you will get the same response as always.

Why do I think that? Because I am a psychic and can therefore charge $300 an hour. (I am bieng sarcastic)

Now I think about it, what other way would you go about convincing others that your hypothesis has any merit, when you have zip evidence for it? It seems to be the only way to me.

Christian's, as well as other bible practicer's try to prove everyone else wrong, bring down other's religions because not only can they, but they are all brainwashed by the idea that there is one and only one "god" who will save you once you kill everyone else that has a different belief system than you, and once the world is dominated by bible followers, only then will they be "saved" that is what they think, because the bible is a ploy for world domination.

And why are you so concerned with proving your single-minded point? What proof is there of evolution? If we evolved from monkeys, then why are there still moneys? Didn't they evolve? If evolution is true as you say, there would be nothing but humans. No other creatures would exist. They evolved, didn't they? You can't have it both ways.

Sorry Tom, but you sound exactly like a know it all christian to me. Your just coming from a slightly different angle.

Same, if I can prove someone else wrong with my sweeping generalizations approach, then I will have someone to be better than.

Love and blessings

The believers you describe (and we get our share of them here on Y!Answers) seem to proceed from the vague notion that "somebody has to be right and it might as well be me."

This, in turn, proceeds from "well, EVERYbody can't be right." Which is true. But everybody CAN be wrong -- and that doesn't seem to have occurred to them.
