The American service men and women have been defending this country for hundeds of years. Giving us the many freedoms that we have. Even our so-called allies have been blasting us. This county is attacked and five years later we're ready to roll over? I don't think so. I can understand when a foreign goverment does it, but not when the american people do.

I think part of it is because we've lived in this country with so much freedom that we don't really know what it's like not to have those freedoms. I hope we don't have to lose some of them to understand what a blessing freedom really is.

They are not anti military at all. Just most people see that all these wars are based on lies and profits. Who was your country attacked by? The 5 people arrested while chearing and dancing while video taping the entire 9-11 tragedy are from the same country that is telling the USA who to kill next. If the soldiers job was to defend the borders they would be loved by everyone. Defending ones country is not following nut cases who believe they are bringing their God into the world by creating the rapture.

You're very busy shovelling the same sh-t that George Bush has been feeding you for 6 years now.

Objecting to the use of our military in inappropriate ways is not being "anti-military." Most of us who object to what has been done in Iraq (which has nothing to do with the 9/11 attack, despite what the Boob-in-Chief would have you believe) want to see our troops returned home so they are not in harm's way--that's hardly "anti-military." If we can't have them home where they belong, most of us would have liked to see a sufficient force there so they could protect themselves and a sufficient amount of protective armor--neither of those things were provided to our troops.

Nobody is "ready to roll over" after being attacked--the point is the 9/11 attack had/has nothing to do with Saddam Hussein and everything to do with Osama Bin Laden--the same Osama who is still at large and seems to have been nearly forgotten by the government at this time.

We are not anti-military by objecting to the destablization of an Arab nation that, while not our friend or ally, was not able to do us harm. We are not anti-miliatry by objecting to the deposition of a dictator who at least kept 4 disparate groups from killing each other, as they are now. Saddam was more like Marshall Tito (Yugoslavia) than Adoph Hitler.

The lack of logic in your comments is so self-evident I'm not sure why I bother to set forth my arguments, clearly the bold headline you wrote has no logical connection to the remainder of what you have written. All it does is prove you are buying the tripe pushed at you by the current US Administration without any critical thought whatsoever.

I've been told never argue with somebody who refuses to be logical, refuses to think on their own and who refuses to be open-minded enough to consider the other side's argument. Perhaps someday I will learn this lesson.

Because unlike you many people have realised that they have been cheated, lied to and abused ie. Iraq and Afghanistan ahd nothing to do with Sept 11th

No one is against the military, it is the way it is being used by corrupt, self-serving politicians.

The American Military should not be used as Bush's own personal thug service for stealing other nations natural resources and you should be speaking out when you see American soldiers dying........

I say American soldiers because I'm sure you don't care about any of the other people dying.

Most of the country is not anti-military. We are, however, anti-war. We must get out of this war in Iraq in any way possible. We did our part to get the US out of Vietnam and the youth and students and young adults, and Vietnam vets need to step foward and see that it is their generation being taken away by this war and that there will be long-lasting effects from the soldiers' service in Iraq just as there was in Vietnam. We support our troops we just want them brought home -- or sent to other countries where they can really be a help with humanitarian aid to those who want it and will appreciate it. Think of how many people we could feed and given medical assistance to in Darfur if our resources weren't being poured into Iraq????????

Were not anti-military, we're anti-war. I firmly believe this was on Bush's agenda( before you blast that statement read the facts-then again if you blast that statement you prob. need someone to read the facts to you). We bombed the country that attacked us. People weren't satisfied so we picked Bush Sr. arch-enemy and destroyed their country, not satisfied...now everyone is fighting the middle east is absolute chaos so...we're extending tour of duties and sending more troops over...why? because his term is almost over, he'll never be charged with the war crimes he committed-the next prez will have to do all the clean up-he has nothing to lose!

both my grandfathers served, as did my father and i, and if i had a boy he would be old enough for this battle.... when are we going to honor our vets by making "their war " the last war .. and stop this from becoming a family tradition... and it is never "their war".. it is always the "Rich mans war poor mans fight"... proud of my family , proud of our heritage, proud to have served... but ashamed of our government for not finding a better way do deal w/ differences... and often the military takes the blame for government leaders incompetence and failures ps to "kevin" the us military is as close to pure communism as you can get.. all dress the same all paid the same* , eat the same , told where and when to work at what job... and it runs just fine ... dont be so quick to blast communism..and the usa has more social programs and more goverment workers [ working welfare] than any communist country..

NOT anti-military...anti war. Why waste the lives of our young men and women for fights that are not ours and not doing anything for our country? These kids come back in body bags or mamed for life. For what? I love, charish, and honor our fighting men and women, that's why I want them back home. Save them and their efforts for the good fight...fights that truly necessary and worth fighting. Is that so hard to understand?

btw, last I checked...the people of Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11, so how would that be "rolling over?" We fight anybody because we can fight the real culprits? Oh yeah, that's worth all those lives. :o|

The military is being used by the idiot in the White House to carry out a war that they had no valid reason to start. The military, by association, is a party to murder under these circumstances, as I was 35 years ago too.

America is more aggressive than all the other countries combined. America is the only country that has used nuclear weapons on a sovereign nation, we have used them 3 times. Who are we going to pop off next? Cuba, Indonesia, and Kyrgyzstan.

Because people don't like it when their country gets involved in pointless wars.

The military is great for defense and absolutely essential, but when they act as an aggressor, that does go down to well.

Let me explain the difference between PEOPLE and GOVERNMENTS to you. Governments make the decision to go to war, or not, people make no such decision, they are simply told.

The fact that the US's allies don't approve of its rampant militarism isn't surprising. Europe, for example, has seem quite enough of that.
