Sincere repenting to God is required for sins to be forgiven.
"O ye who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance " Quran 66: 8
"And those who when they commit an indecency or do injustice to their souls remember Allah and ask forgiveness for their faults-- and who forgives the faults but Allah, and (who) do not knowingly persist in what they have done. " Quran 3:135.
"Say: "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. " Quran 39: 53.
Also Quran says, sinning throughout life and repenting in death bed is of no use.
"Allah accept the repentance of those who do evil in ignorance and repent soon afterwards; to them will Allah turn in mercy: For Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom. " Quran 4: 17.
"Of no effect is the repentance of those who continue to do evil, until death faces one of them, and he says, "Now have I repented indeed;" nor of those who die rejecting Faith: for them have We prepared a punishment most grievous. " Quran 4: 18.

I agree with inin, Allah Ta'ala will forgive anything he wills except ascribing partners to him...
If you complete the obligatory and optional A'maal, your minor sins will be washed away as Allah has promised to do so. Major sins are not forgiven without sincere repentance, and Allah knows who is sincere in the heart, for nothing is hidden from him.
If you read the Qur'an several times and did not come across anything for repentance then you did not read it properly. Qur'an is filled with verses of forgiveness...

Well, Qur'an says that Allah can forgive any sin except associating partners to Him. Repenting from any other sin is simple, you just ask Allah's forgiveness, but being sincere in asking for forgiveness is the crucial issue.

In the bible all sin is covered with a substitute. In the Old Testament it was a specific animal that covered sin and represented Jesus before his life and He became our subtitute after His death on the cross. There is no release from sin without blood being shed which shows us just how grave sin is considered by God, but He loved us so much He sent His only Son to be our covering. In Jesus, this was adequate, His Holy blood was adequate and reconciled God for the sin of all mankind. It showed us also that there is eternal life beyond death in His ressurection. It is important that we know and realise that His blood redeems us and takes away the guilt complex that sin leaves us with. It is the 'exchange' - blood for sin, so you know that you are forgiven. We cannot 'hope' that we are sincere enough to be forgiven. What level is this to go upon? It is foolish to think that redemption can come about from sin in any form from a few tears. There needs to be recognition of a substitute. Nothing releases us from anything without Jesus as our substitute. Now I can't think of anything greater than someone dying for me to save me. That is the ultimate. Did your God literally die for you or is he giving you an impossible feat to achieve by any man, based on mere words. No man fully knows his own erronous ways for sure and without the blood of Jesus it is a game of hit and miss. Were you sincere enough to be forgiven? - this is left up to you to determine so it sounds as though you will never know fully so that you may be rid of the guilt. How would you know for sure? Afterall there is nothing to take the place of your sin!

As per Quran the sin of Adam does not exist. Adam and Eva were forgiven by Allah.
Any sin you have done in your life can be released by Him, just ask forgiveness and pray.
Only shirk ( worshiping anything/anybody except Allah) is the harderst sin which will not be released

Seems like the Quran's teaching on redemption sounds more like revenge...an eye for an eye...etc.. Christian belief is that Jesus paid the price for our redemption by his death on the cross! So repent and believe in the good news and redemption is yours....and it is a free gift too!

To set yourself free from sin ,you have to repent to God(Allah)i.e you have to regret doing that sin then promise Allah not to do it again .You may repent at any time unless you are in death bed,as repenting at this time will be because of fear of hell, not feeling you have sin,and because you may think that you can do sins all your life depending on repenting in the last moment..

to ask for forgiveness from Allah n to make FULL EFFORT NOT TO REPEAT IT(sin).. this called 'Taubah" ....
Allah is the most merciful n the most Beneficent..
in some sins u also get punishments..
like if u steal.. ur left hand gets cut! (except if u do it bcuz of hunger)
if u kill... u get killed or u have to pay comensation to the family of the deceased IF they forgive u
if u do adultery.. if ur married u get "stoned to death" n if ur unmarried u get "100 lashes"
etc etc....
these punishments have made the muslim society a cery PEACEFUL one .. when u know ur gonna get such severe punishments for sins/crimes like these!!!!!!!!
thats why AIDS is the least in muslim countries n also other STD's!!!!!!!!!
