It means that any electrodes, which are for the measurement of pH's of solutions, will eventually given time, have deposits on them which will not come off with normal rinsing from De-Ionized or Distilled water. So, in order to function properly when electrodes are in storage they should be kept in an acidic solution (usually pH 4.0 - pH 5.0) to attack left behind residues and keep the electrode in its best working condition. That is what the Deposit Control System does.
